It's the right thing to do.
Today at soccer practice i witnessed a bullying situation in which an older boy decided it would be funny to call my sister stupid and useless because he wasn't in a good mood and my sister was just there. Albus Dumbledore once said "Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it." Unfortunately he does not posses the gift of good magic for i have witnessed him committing assualts on other children younger than himself. He may think himself a Mighty but the correct word would be Bully. To take it upon myself and go put him on check would make me a hypocrite. So i told his father, well after meeting the man i understood why the boy was who he was. Bullying attacks in different forms emotionally , physically, and mentally. It is understood that bullying has been around as long as man has. In my opinion bullying is bred from lack of parent involvement. I'm a teenager myself so i understand the need for independence and privacy. But if parents could just sit down at dinner or breakfast for lunch or on the way to soccer practice and inform thier children on the evils that words and kicks can inflict. If we attacked the problem 1 child at a time. We could stomp out bullying.
